SUBARU SPT HIGH FLOW AIR INTAKE Review

This is a straight forward, easy to install intake. Would've only taken about 20 minutes tops to install but I wanted things to look a particular way... Like I wanted the SPT logo on the coupler face up, the T-bolts in line and straight, just dumb anal detail things. This intake is completely transparent at low throttle and idle, but as soon as your car starts seeing some boost things change completely. It's not completely obnoxious, but it does allow for a significant amount of turbo whine and blow off valve sounds to come through. Just enough to bring a smile to your face, it really accentuates the burble of the boxer engine configuration. Bear in mind I'm not a 20 year old kid with a ton of fiberglass and stickers on my car, I'm a 40 year old guy who just uses this car as a commuter car to work. I haven't taken it to work yet, but like I said, at idle and light throttle it doesn't make any noise at all so it shouldn't be an issue on the freeways. I do think I will see some significant fuel economy hits for a while because I'll probably stomp on the go pedal just to listen to the whistling and sneezing. The HUGE upside to this intake is it's CARB certified and comes with a little sticker for under the hood of course. Worth every penny. EDIT: Also, I just realized I didn't even put anything about power gains. I haven't dyno'd it against stock, but it definitely has made a difference in acceleration.
