This sensor features zirconia solid electrolyte integrated with alumina heater substrate which precicely controls the amount of oxygen concentration that flows into the diffusion layer to limit current flow. It may be my imagination, but my car seems to run a little better since I replaced my O2 sensors at 170,000 miles.

Denso (a Japanese company) is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), so they are a perfect fit replacement for the old ones on my 2007 Subaru Impreza 2.5i. These are packaged with some extra hi-temperature anti-sieze compound, so they won't become permanently stuck in your exhaust system.

All you really need to do the job is a 22mm open end wrench and a diagonal cutter (side cutter). I have a socket specifically made for O2 sensors, but it was easier just to use the open end wrench due to vertical space limitations. The diagonal cutter is used to cut and remove the old clip that holds the wire in place at its mid-point.
