Recon 26411 60" Red Hyperlite "Line of Fire" LED Tailgate Light Bar - fits most full-sized trucks & SUVs Review

I installed this Recon 26411 60" Hyperlite "Line of Fire" LED Tailgate Light Bar on my 2004 F-150 Supercrew. My truck has a metal pin attached to the bottom of the tail gate. When you open the tail gate... the pin swings into an opening in the truck body. This is a safety feature on Ford trucks to help carry the weight placed on the tailgate. This pin can interfere with the position of the light bar if your not very careful. I chose to use a hacksaw and cut 1/16" off of the pin. The pin is still long enough to act as a "safety pin" and yet the pin clears the light bar with no problems. As other reviewers have said: Once the Light Bar is put in place... you have very little wiggle room to move it or straighten it out so... make sure you have it lined up where you want it before you allow the adhesive to touch the truck. I chose to use self tapping aluminum screws in addition to the adhesive tape for security reasons. My trucks towing package has two different places I can plug this Light Bar in, so that was a breeze. The Light Bar was installed a few Months ago and is working flawless! When I step on the brakes the roof light, brake lights, towing hitch light and the Light Bar will light up. No excuses for people behind me to not know I'm slowing down or stopping. I've driven in all types of weather and temperatures and blasted the light bar at the truck wash and the quality of the light bar continues to perform with excellence! There are a lot of junk (cheap) light bars out there... don't waste your money. Recon is the best and Amazon has the lowest price.

UPDATE: It is now Dec. 24,2011 and my Recon light bar is still performing like new!!!! Every bulb is still working bright. Driven thousands of miles in every kind of weather and the light bar continues to perform flawlessly!

UPDATE: It is now 02/25/2013 and my Recon light bar is still operating flawlessly! I removed the self tapping screws about a year ago. The screws put just a very slight bend in the bar that caused the LED lights, in the area where I had placed the 4 screws, to appear as though they were not working when you stood directly behind the truck. When you moved your head a fraction, left or right, the few LED'S were bright again. After removing the screws everything lined up and all LED's are equally as bright and all still work perfectly today! The adhesive is very good and NO screws are needed.
