In the car we installed this (85 Toyota Celica Supra), the pump is held in place by a rubber bushing on the bottom of the arm. However, this pump has slightly different dimensions than the stock pump; and it didn't quite match the bushing. So we made some minor modifications to the bushing, and lashed the pump to the arm.
