I installed this gauge in the Center Vent, center console, in my 2007 Mazdaspeed 6. The Red Color is just a little more red than the stock gauges, and climate control display, but you really have to stare at it. The Setup wiring directions are a little vague. Wire red and orange together with red from sending unit, wire Black and black wires together for ground, wire white from sender to green from gauge. That will give you Red/Red. Since nothing in my car is Blue that's how I wired it up. I Spliced into the Blue (acc power) and black (ground) wires for the cigarette lighter. Works fine, even with my Radar detector running out of the cigarette lighter as well.Onto the imperfections. The unit comes with ample vacuum line but it's clear acrylic line which will more than likely heat up in the engine bay and get sucked flat by the vacuum of the engine. Plain black reliable standard vacuum line would have been a better choice. Even though it's generally much bigger. The line the gauge comes with has an OD of 1/4." If the line sucks flat it will make the gauge not work very well, if at all. The gauge doesn't sit at 0 when the car is just turned to "on" (engine off). I'm assuming that it's because I live 1700 feet above sea level (prosport is located in Florida I think). So far I've only seen it display 14 PSI while driving, and since the engine stock goes to 15.9 (which would display 16) I'm attributing this to the fact that it starts at 2 inches of mercury (inch Hg "vacuum") rather than 0. There's a little white "poker" that fits into the back of the gauge. I had assumed this was to zero it out, however it does nothing when i stick it in there.
Prosport must have been trying to save a buck when it came time for the included wiring. They must be assuming that everyone will install the gauge in the driver's side A pillar... and low at that. It comes with about 6" of wire hanging from the sender. I soldered on another 3 Feet of wire and shrink wrapped over the solder (each individual solder joint, and then over the whole bundle) to give it a nice professional look. It only has about 16" of wire hanging from the plug for the gauge. They must expect everyone to want to wire the sender right next to the gauge. Kind of beats the point of having a sender. If you buy this gauge plan on buying some black, red, and white wire 14-16 gauge so you actually have enough wire to work with.
