Install was easy on a 2007 Ultra Classic. I have 54k on my primary chain and did not require any shims. The only thing I found to be odd about the install is the clearance between the base and the shoe was only about 1/4 inch, not the 3/8 inch as specified in the instructions. Based on forum posts, others appear to have this issue as well but it apparently doesn't hurt anything. One installation note: you do NOT use the spacers that came with the stock tensione: the ones that go on the installation bolts. The only negative thing I found with this tensioner is that it whines pretty badly until it's broken in, or so I am told. Once 300 or 400 miles have past, it is supposed to quiet down. I am running Shell Rotella 15w-40 in my primary as always. Shifting is smoother and makes less noise. More of a click, but I still get the 1st gear clunk which is characteristic so no worries. All is all a well made product.
