Definitely makes a difference when starting up my F-150, even in temps as low as -20F. I have it set on a timer to start in the morning a few hours before I head out so it won't run all night. It does what it advertises (heats up oil and surely helps with cold starts), but if you're looking to get warm air from your heater more quickly this probably isn't the best bet. I does help some, but a frost plug replacement or coolant heater would work best for that. However, even running just a few hours before I head out I do notice my temp gauge pops up faster, and even faster still if I let it run all night. Gets hot enough in a few second that you can't even touch it...watch out!!For the install, it's fairly simple (it took about 30 minutes). It came with everything needed...the pad is adhesive backed (sandpaper included to make sure you create a good bond), silicone to seal around the edges and a few wire-ties to run the cord to the front of the vehicle.
