Our 2005 Escape hybrid first started dying randomly while driving about a year ago. Slowly how far we could drive it before it died kept getting shorter and shorter. It had gotten to the point we could go no further than 30 miles without risking it dying. We had heard the electric motor cooling pump may be the problem and after it died 6 times in less than a hour I was fed up. I was told it would cost at least $500 to replace the part at the dealership. After doing some research and found out just how easy it would be to replace the part myself I came to Amazon and found this part. Let me tell you, our hybrid is like brand new. It has now gone on 800 mile roundtrips in a day twice without dying once. It now goes back into hybrid mode regularly which it hadn't been doing, but we didn't even realize. Since it is an aftermarket part I don't know how long it will last, but right now I don't care. I just wish we had done gotten it months ago. Should this one fail any time soon I will definitely be back to buy another one. When I ordered mine, the part was on back order, but it was well worth the wait.
