Rancho’s new RS9000XL shock absorbers feature adjustable damping with either a 2.75- or 2.38-in. diameter reserve tube. This massive shock body allows the RS9000XL to run cooler and more consistent even under the most demanding towing conditions, enhancing performance and durability, and is constructed with a larger than typical 18-mm diameter chromed piston rod. Rancho RS9000XL shock series are engineered with nine position tuning technology that provides nine different levels of shock performance. These premium shocks also have polyurethane bushings that enhance shock performance and durability along with a boot that protects the shock rod and oil seal.

I LOVE these shocks! I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler with a 4" lift running 33" tires and hadn't realized how bad my old Dick Cepek Series 77 shocks were. Before going to these shocks, I felt absolutely every bump and rock in the road. I knew my shocks were getting old and the bushings needed to be replaced and after reading many reviews decided that I wanted either these or Old Man Emu Nitrocharger N66L/N67L shocks. The Rancho 9000XL's were at the top of my list because they were adjustable though at the time, the OME shocks were more in my price range. The only thing stopping me was the price. I watched prices for months and luckily for me, Amazon came through with not only the lowest price around but an additional instant rebate on top of it that made the total cost about 1/2 of the average price anywhere else for Ranch 9000XL's and less than the OME shocks that were my second choice.

After installing these shocks and playing with the adjustments during too many "test drives" and every day use, I am extremely satisfied with my choice. Add in a lifetime warranty by Rancho and I don't see how they can be beat. For every day street I have the shocks set to 3 and can't believe how smooth the ride is. It's soft without losing the feel of the road and makes for a great ride. Setting it up to 9 is still a better ride than my old shocks and gives a stiff ride without jarring your teeth loose. Good for off road where you don't want your shocks absorbing your forward momentum in trying to climb up a hill or out of a pit. Adjusting the shocks is dead simple. Turn the knob on the end of the shock to the desired number and drive away. You can even get the MyRide in-cab system to adjust them on the go. It's so easy to do though that I didn't see the need to have the on-demand ability that the MyRide system gives you though if Amazon comes through on the price I just might jump on that too :)
